"Going Somewhere?"
I started thinking about how much of our lives is spent in motion: walking to work, catching a train, crossing a street, checking the time, always thinking about where we need to be next.
This project came from that feeling.
I photographed while walking at a fast pace, allowing motion blur, imperfect framing and missed moments to become part of the images. People, buildings, lights and streets begin to dissolve, turning familiar places into something almost abstract.
The blur became a way of representing how we move through daily life: seeing, but not always noticing.
These photographs are about the moments between destinations, the ordinary scenes we pass every day, but may never really remember.
Going somewhere?
Maybe the question is not only where we are going, but what we miss along the way.
